(3:50 p.m. EDT) — Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas is expected to sail its next cruise as planned, despite a technical issue that has forced the ship to alter its current itinerary for repairs to be made.

Repairs are already underway, and the technical issue will be resolved before November 5, when Navigator of the Seas is scheduled to depart for its repositioning cruise from Southampton, England, to Miami. According to Royal Caribbean, the issue isn’t affecting the ship’s overall performance.

“The ship is fully operational with no impact on its maneuverability or the safety of our guests and crew,” the line said in a statement. “However, because of time needed to make the repair, it was necessary to modify her current itinerary.”

Navigator of the Seas, which departed from Southampton on October 26, skipped its October 29 call at Funchal, Madeira, and instead spent the day in Vigo, Spain, on October 28. It will arrive to the Canary Islands on October 31, as scheduled.

The ship is scheduled to receive an extensive refurbishment next year, as part of the line’s Royal Amplified program.
