(2:30 p.m. EDT) — Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas will return to Alaska in 2020, the second year the ship will sail in the region.
Speaking to the U.K.’s Travel Weekly, Ben Bouldin, managing director of Royal Caribbean, U.K. and Ireland, revealed that the Quantum-class ship will return to Alaska for the second year in a row. It will visit Alaska in summer 2019 for the first time since it launched in 2016.
He also confirmed that Anthem of the Seas will visit the United Kingdom in 2020. Anthem of the Seas was last based in the U.K. in 2015, when it replaced the much-loved Independence of the Seas for one season. The pair will both be based there in 2020.
The line has not revealed what ship will replace Anthem in sailing from Bayonne, New Jersey.
Royal Caribbean would not comment on Bouldin’s reveals, but said said it would officially reveal its 2020 program for Alaska the week of November 5 and for Europe the week of November 19.
